Coming to your first class can be exciting. Here is what you need to know.
What to wear
Fitted, flexible leggings and a top are enough. Non-slip grip socks are required for reformer and mat classes; you can buy them from the studio for 120 TRY. Yoga classes are done barefoot. We suggest removing jewellery and tying your hair back.
When to arrive
Come 10–15 minutes early. We do not allow entry once more than 5 minutes of class have passed; this rule matters for safety and concentration. On your first visit it is ideal to arrive 15 minutes early to meet the instructor briefly.
What happens in the first class?
- You fill in a short health form: injuries, operations, pregnancy, chronic conditions.
- The instructor shows the equipment (reformer or mat) and basic positions.
- Class lasts 55 minutes; it consists of warm-up, main section and ends with stretching and breathing.
- You can make a movement lighter or take a break at any moment.
What to bring
A water bottle and a small towel are enough. Mats, blocks, straps and all reformer equipment are available in the studio. Use of lockers and showers is free.
Which class should I start with?
If you have never exercised or have back and neck complaints, start with "Reformer Beginner" or "Mat Pilates Foundations." If you are looking for flexibility and relaxation, Hatha or Yin Yoga suit you. If you are not sure, take the "Which Class Suits Me?" test on our site.
If you are pregnant, have had recent surgery or have a health problem, get your doctor's approval and tell the instructor.
